Beware of Chicken
Beware of Chicken · Book 1
Someone wakes in the body of Jin Rou, a cultivator whose pursuit of spiritual power has already got him killed. The newcomer leaves that struggle behind to grow rice and build a home. Having the strength of ten men helps with the fieldwork; feeding spirit herbs to the rooster creates a different problem.

What makes it funny?
Jin calls his rooster Big D. The rooster understands this as Bi De, a name fit for a martial artist. A farmer's casual nickname becomes part of his chicken's serious pursuit of enlightenment.
The comedy at work
Jin finds satisfaction in crops and caring for his animals. The animals have grander ideas about what life on the farm means. Their martial-arts adventures interrupt the human narrator's quieter account of settling down.
Try this if…
A slower fantasy for readers who enjoy building a home and watching a small community grow. Familiarity with cultivation stories, where fighters develop spiritual powers, helps with the jokes about refusing that career.
Good to know
The animal chapters include bloody combat. FanFiAddict's reviewer found the shifts from Jin's peaceful farm work to those fights abrupt at first.
