What makes it funny?
Terry worries that his job's lingering smell has ruined his love life, while Geldof is already miserable under his parents' vegan regime. Logan sends this ill-equipped company into a national emergency involving murderous farm animals.
The comedy at work
Logan narrates the outbreak with a deadpan voice, giving personal grievances room beside the carnage. The survivors' ineptitude and the reversal of livestock attacking people supply the absurdity.
Try this if…
Horror readers who enjoy incompetent survivors and grim jokes amid an outbreak may find more here than readers seeking a gentle animal comedy.
Good to know
Expect graphic gore and sexual material involving infected animals. Reviewers differ on the balance of laughs and scares: Kirkus found the horror stronger than the comedy.
More funny post-apocalyptic
