What makes it funny?

Kat's surname gives her an imaginary Abbott and Costello routine before the mystery even starts. Her chemistry puns fare better with Tucker than her attempted apology to a lab technician, who takes another name-confusion joke very badly.

The comedy at work

Kat narrates mishaps as though she could explain bad luck with a scientific law. The analysis doesn't stop her making an awkward situation worse, particularly when she tries to joke her way out of it.

Try this if…

Wordplay and an awkward, analytical narrator give this murder mystery much of its character. The developing alliance between three wronged women matters alongside the hunt for the killer.

Good to know

This is an adult mystery with infidelity and murder at the center. The opening includes profanity and sexual references.
