Grailblazers
Sir Boamund wakes from an enchanted sleep to find the Grail quest badly behind schedule. The other knights have adapted to modern England by getting jobs. Reviving their sense of duty is difficult when nobody has much idea where to look for the prize.

What makes it funny?
A knight in need of a sage ends up at the Citizens' Advice Bureau. Boamund's expectations of a properly grand meal also survive encounters with motorway food: he continues to order as though chivalry will oblige the kitchen to produce it.
The comedy at work
Holt lets heroic certainty run into contemporary services, employment and finance. Boamund treats his mission with complete seriousness while the people and institutions around him have more immediate concerns.
Try this if…
Arthurian parody and financial satire share the quest here. Readers who enjoy old legends being forced to accommodate modern inconvenience may appreciate Boamund's refusal to lower his expectations.
Good to know
Holt also plays with religious and seasonal folklore, including an unusual version of Father Christmas.
