Arlo has to invent excuses for companions who suspect something is wrong, while the game system itself treats him as a joke. Staying alive includes trying to look as though he belongs there.

His strongest stat is Intelligence, but he pours his resources into Fortitude. The joke is a practical one: a man who cannot fight builds himself to survive getting hit.
