What makes it funny?
The indignities start at airport security, where Seth's friends make him the object of a public prank. Kevin also recalls relatives correcting misspelled soap at his own wedding, carving each bar by hand to fix a favor nobody wanted.
The comedy at work
Small practical problems invite disastrous solutions. Seth’s friends keep supplying advice and teasing retorts as the wedding preparations expand into a farce involving criminal threats and a love-struck orangutan.
Try this if…
A wedding going spectacularly wrong supplies the rude banter and criminal complications. Readers who prefer their comic characters dignified may find Seth's friends a trial.
Good to know
Profanity and sexual humor appear early. A separate chapter follows a mother and children abandoned at sea, so the peril extends beyond wedding embarrassment.
