What makes it funny?
Even the name Anthony is an ant joke, deliberately chosen by RinoZ. He accepts his monstrous new life quickly, leaving room for recurring puns as he gets on with the practical business of being an insect.
The comedy at work
A human mind has to work with the equipment of an ant. Bite and digging skills take the place of the abilities a human adventurer might expect, while wordplay keeps calling attention to the species Anthony now belongs to.
Try this if…
An inhuman hero gives the familiar work of leveling and developing skills a different scale. Dungeon survival, monster progression and a colony worth protecting will matter to readers drawn to his growth.
Good to know
This published volume revises an earlier serial. The opening involves isolated survival and predation despite the jokes, and the initial story arc spans the first three volumes.
