What makes it funny?
Demons and foreign armies threaten Spot’s new home, but stairs also rank among his great enemies. His cleaning duties carry on through a fantasy adventure whose hero cannot manage an ordinary staircase. Readers in LitRPG book groups recommend the unusual setup of a vacuum hero with a human sidekick.
The comedy at work
Spot has the modest priorities of a household appliance in a world prepared to treat him as a great power. His route to heroism begins with dirty floors; the people following his trail attach much grander hopes to it.
Try this if…
A playful choice for readers who enjoy a nonhuman hero and a fantasy adventure built around gaining power. Its robot has a cleaning job to do, giving the usual journey to another world a practical, stubborn purpose.
