# You Are Summoned By Dean Henegar · You Are Summoned, book 1 Profile: https://hahafiction.com/books/you-are-summoned-705b4689/ Insurance worker Rico Kline keeps getting summoned away from home as an expendable minion. He must run errands or fight for summoners, collect rewards, and then return to the problems waiting in his ordinary life. ## What makes it funny? One confused question uses up Rico's entire question allowance, and the system mutes his objections. He faces a bureaucracy that counts compliance more carefully than it considers whether its recruit knows what is happening. ### The comedy at work After a fatal encounter, Rico receives an abysmal performance rating. The dark joke treats dying on an assignment as another failure at work. ### Try this if… Summoning tiers, rewards, and new abilities provide progression for a protagonist who serves other people's quests. Rico experiences the disposable-minion role from the inside. ### Good to know An early summoning includes graphic violence: an armored orc cuts the unarmed Rico in half. You Are Summoned begins the series of the same name. ## What to expect - Genre: Fantasy · LitRPG - Kind of humor: Dark comedy - Format: Novel - Length: 516 pages - Audiobook: 14 hr - Published: 2024 ## Sources & further reading - Publisher: [Aethon Books lists You Are Summoned by Dean Henegar with 516 pages, a paper price, and ISBN 9798300537401.](https://aethonbooks.com/book/you-are-summoned-2) - Book information: [Apple Books identifies You Are Summoned: A LitRPG Adventure (Unabridged) by Dean Henegar, published by Aethon Audio, with a 14-hour runtime.](https://books.apple.com/be/audiobook/you-are-summoned-a-litrpg-adventure-unabridged/id1776018815?l=nl) - Book information: [Bibliographic record](https://www.fantasticfiction.com/h/dean-henegar/you-are-summoned.htm) - Publisher: [Publisher](https://aethonbooks.com/book/you-are-summoned-2) - Reading sample: [Read chapter 2](https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/71172/you-are-summoned/chapter/1271991/chapter-2-here-i-go)
