# The Stupidest Angel

*A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror*

By Christopher Moore · Pine Cove, book 3

Profile: https://hahafiction.com/books/the-stupidest-angel-2929e548/

A boy in Pine Cove thinks he has seen Santa murdered and prays for him to come back. Archangel Raziel arrives to grant a Christmas wish, with divine power and very poor judgment.

## What makes it funny?

Even before the miracle goes wrong, Pine Cove has its own approach to Christmas generosity: a shop keeps bringing out the same ugly reindeer sweater, raising the price and calling it a holiday special. The town’s seasonal cheer is already suspect.

### The comedy at work

Moore treats Christmas sentiment as an invitation to misbehave. Petty small-town business and familiar holiday rituals give way to a bungled miracle and supernatural chaos, with the festive language keeping pace.

### Try this if…

For readers who like their Christmas stories irreverent, their supernatural trouble absurd and their jokes willing to involve death. The warmth comes with a macabre streak.

### Good to know

This is the third Pine Cove book and brings back characters from other Moore novels. The Christmas plot can be followed on its own; earlier books add context to the returning cast’s relationships.
