Insulting Athena leaves Alexander Weiss stranded on an island with Euryale, Medusa’s older sister. She likes him, which is fortunate: losing her goodwill could mean becoming another statue. Greek mythology supplies the danger, while an ordinary mortal’s blunders and the gods’ vindictiveness give this adventure its comic predicament.

## What makes it funny?

Alex assumes a divine messenger works for a sportswear company and asks whether Olympus is a startup. The messenger treats Nike as an irritating colleague and casually admits stealing a neighbor’s cookies.

### The comedy at work

Ancient gods speak the language of deliveries and office grievances. Alex keeps applying everyday assumptions to people whose powers make those assumptions dangerous.

### Try this if…

Greek-myth fans who enjoy irreverent dialogue and mortal trouble with the Olympians have plenty to follow here, alongside Alex’s attraction to Euryale.

### Good to know

The adventure moves through encounters with different gods. Kit ’n Kabookle’s reviewer found some stretches episodic, a useful expectation for readers who prefer one continuous quest.
