# One More Last Time

By Eric Ugland · The Good Guys, book 1

Profile: https://hahafiction.com/books/the-good-guys-3e4e27f1/

Montana wants a fresh start. He enters iNcarn8 and takes on the role of a huge warrior built to absorb damage, hoping to leave his old life behind and find some peace. Magic, fights and the demands of a game world give him plenty to do before he can settle down.

## What makes it funny?

Montana tells his own story with more sincerity than good sense. The audiobook reviewer singles out that foolish first-person voice: his limitations supply jokes between the fights, while moments of emotion give him more to carry than a weapon.

### The comedy at work

A formidable body does little to improve Montana’s judgment. Ugland gives an RPG hero’s strength and opportunities to a man the author describes as a lovable idiot, leaving his own narration to expose the gap.

### Try this if…

Readers who want leveling, magic systems and frequent action with a fallible hero have a clear reason to meet Montana. His search for a quieter life adds a personal aim to the game’s progression.

### Good to know

The opening setup involves suicidal despair and a gun, so the comic adventure begins from a dark place.
