Qube is a cheerful character in a game's tutorial, programmed to die so the Player has a reason to begin the quest. A player who breaks the rules instead frees her from that script and takes her along. She sets out to become the best companion she can.

## What makes it funny?

Qube expects her world to work according to its programming. The Player experiments and exploits glitches, leaving her to make sense of behavior that does not follow the rules she knows.

### Try this if…

The parody draws on old-school games and Dungeons & Dragons. Its companion's viewpoint puts the consequences of chaotic player choices at the center of the adventure.
