Morgan Blackwater would like to survive her job at Zabloom, where even the product is a mystery. Instead, she inherits her dead boss’s unfinished demonic bargain. Helping Luke get home means risking her own soul, keeping him away from her demon-hunting mother, and getting dangerously attached to someone whose business is damnation.

## What makes it funny?

Office team building acquires a supernatural problem: the same story finds room for a shuffleboard outing and a Pomeranian named Floofums facing down a hellhound. The Albuquerque Journal also singles out Morgan and Luke’s exchanges as a source of the book’s laughs.

### The comedy at work

Luke gives familiar startup behavior the scrutiny of someone from another plane. His own sales obligations make the comparison uncomfortable: Morgan needs to meet a target, and Luke needs someone to surrender a soul. Rozakis uses their predicament to poke at what employers expect people to give up.

### Try this if…

Office veterans who enjoy seeing corporate rituals mocked have plenty to recognize here. Expect a romance with a demon and affectionate character comedy alongside the attack on startup culture.

### Good to know

Everyday Enchantments is a shared world you can enter here. The author says its books stand alone and can be read in any order, with minor character crossovers and Easter eggs. Morgan’s magic dyslexia and her relationship with her powerful mother are part of her story.
