# It's a Wonderful Midlife Crisis

By Robyn Peterman · Good to the Last Death, book 1

Profile: https://hahafiction.com/books/it-s-a-wonderful-midlife-crisis-18883811/

Daisy is turning forty with a dead husband, a job as a paralegal and a house full of ghosts who need her help. A new lawyer at work adds the possibility of romance to a life already crowded with unwanted visitors.

## What makes it funny?

The dead have household habits: they take over Daisy's television, and their detached limbs need gluing back on. Helping them means dealing with repairs and inconsiderate guests as well as the mysteries of the afterlife.

### The comedy at work

Daisy worries about being late for work and keeping corpses away from dinner. Her best friend Missy supplies a different kind of trouble, answering Daisy's anxieties about turning forty with teasing insults and frank jokes about sex.

### Try this if…

Friendship and a romance that develops across the series accompany Daisy's paranormal cases. Readers who want a heroine starting over at forty, with friends willing to tease her through it, have plenty to follow here.

### Good to know

Bereavement is part of the setup. The early excerpt includes swearing, sexual banter and discussion of a suspected suicide; the larger story and romance continue beyond this volume.
