# If the Ring Fits

Adrian needs someone to play the fiancée he invented for his boss. Rowena, an unemployed software engineer facing pregnancy without a partner, needs options. Their agreement looks practical until pretending to be a couple involves shared rooms and inconvenient attraction. The comedy comes from two strangers trying to keep a supposedly businesslike arrangement under control.

## What makes it funny?

Their first encounter takes place while they're vomiting in neighboring bathroom stalls. Adrian's response to that unpromising introduction is to recruit Rowena as his pretend fiancée.

### The comedy at work

Adrian and Rowena try to manage intimacy like a business project, even plotting their relationship on a spreadsheet. His luxurious apartment and staff make playing house comfortable, while their rules against falling in love grow harder to follow.

### Try this if…

Fake engagements, forced proximity and an age gap drive this romance. The millionaire hero is paired with a software engineer whose immediate problems are unemployment and an unplanned pregnancy.

### Good to know

Pregnancy is central from the start, and the bathroom meeting includes vomiting. Although characters return from an earlier Funny Feelings book, a NetGalley reviewer found their appearances easy for newcomers to follow.
