After five years of invisibly haunting four men, a woman still has no memory of who she was before them. She wants to become physically real, unravel the connection and persuade the men to include her in their relationship. She would also like some popcorn.

## What makes it funny?

She presents these ambitions as a list of life goals, putting an ordinary snack alongside the need to acquire a body. Her insistence that this is all perfectly normal gives the first-person introduction its cheek. The Bookish Books reviewer singles out the heroine as the book’s comic attraction.

### The comedy at work

The narrator approaches her impossible circumstances with the practical language of self-improvement. Wanting answers about her existence shares space with sexual wishful thinking and small bodily pleasures.

### Try this if…

A paranormal romance for readers who enjoy a funny heroine pursuing several men and a supernatural mystery that unfolds across a series. The romantic arrangement is usually called reverse harem, meaning one central woman with multiple male partners.

### Good to know

Contains sexual themes and strong language. Reader content guides flag assault, blood and gore, death, violence and bullying within the romantic group. This opens a four-book story, with mysteries and relationships still developing; the Bookish Books reviewer also found some world-building terminology difficult to follow.
