Aliens destroy humanity's buildings and turn the survivors' struggle into intergalactic reality TV. Coast Guard veteran Carl enters a deadly fantasy dungeon with Princess Donut, his ex-girlfriend's show cat.

## What makes it funny?

Carl meets the apocalypse in boxers and ill-fitting pink Crocs, holding an angry Persian cat. Even as he recounts the catastrophe, he has complaints about cat-show people: ordinary irritation survives alongside the end of his world.

### The comedy at work

The dungeon's cruelty serves an audience. Treating human survival as entertainment gives the monster fights and game progression a dark comic setting.

### Try this if…

Levels and dungeon advancement structure the adventure, while alien broadcasters give it a science-fiction frame. The central partnership pairs a human survivor with a show cat.

### Good to know

The opening contains repeated profanity and mass death, with people crushed to dust. Deadly traps and grotesque monsters follow in this first Dungeon Crawler Carl novel.
