# Cinnamon Bun

Broccoli Bunch accepts an invitation to help a world troubled by evil. The teenage newcomer has monsters and dungeons to contend with, but she is keenest on making friends and putting skills such as cleaning to use. Her adventures unfold in a world of game-style levels and abilities.

## What makes it funny?

Broccoli hugs the menu boxes. Cleaning and gardening get the billing usually reserved for spectacular combat powers, while potential enemies look to her like people she might befriend. Readers in LitRPG book groups single out that optimism and the friendship-driven humor.

### The comedy at work

Broccoli approaches danger with very little suspicion. The joke depends on her taking kindness as seriously as other adventurers take gaining power: even someone attacking her can still seem worth the effort of winning over.

### Try this if…

There is room here for readers who enjoy game-like adventures but prefer a generous protagonist. The Audiobook Review also notes that the character-stat summaries are occasional, which may suit you if long stretches of numbers interrupt your enjoyment.

### Good to know

The gentle reputation comes with qualifications: the first-volume review notes occasional suggestive remarks and enemies who try to kill Broccoli. It also finds that the original mission loses focus after the first dungeon, so expect diversions along the way.
