By Maxime J. Durand · Apocalypse Tamer, book 1

Profile: https://hahafiction.com/books/apocalypse-tamer-4fcfbe25/

Earth's invasion by gods and monsters gives Basil Bohen a choice of game classes. He chooses Tamer so he can talk to his cat, Plato, and gather monsters to protect his rural home.

## What makes it funny?

The apocalypse offers a contest to become Earth's Overgod, but Basil has more immediate priorities. His interest in talking with Plato cuts the grand struggle down to a cat owner's concerns.

### Try this if…

Monster companions, dungeon battles, and defending a home base are central attractions. The game mechanics reward fighting and killing with levels, so the comic setup comes with lethal conflict.

### Good to know

This is the first Apocalypse Tamer novel. Maxime J. Durand also writes as Void Herald.
